Note: Due to Covid-19, these exams will be given online this semester.

Quantitative Reasoning (GRS C013) – Is an Arithmetic and Elementary Algebra exam. You will have 24 hours to log in, and then 90 minutes to complete it on the day you sign up for. Once you sign up, within 24 hours you will have access to many practice quizzes and other materials to help you study. 60% is a passing score for this exam.

Information Literacy (GRS C012) – This requirement tests your knowledge about using the library and citing sources in your papers. The requirement consists of 4 modules and 4 quizzes. You will have 24 hours to complete this (on the day you sign up for), and there is no time limit once you sign in. You must get 80% on each quiz to pass this requirement.

If you have approved your advisee to register online, they can register for these there (by searching for sections under the subject of GRS).If they can’t register online, they should email Meredith Fletcher with the day they want to take it and their ID number, and she will register them.

If you are not sure if you have met these requirements, please do the following:

  1. Log into the Portal and click on Student Academic Planning on the right hand side.
  2. Click on Program Evaluation.
  3. Click on your major and hit submit.
  4. Scroll down to the Graduation Standards section.
  • If it says Not Started under Quantitative Reasoning or Information Literacy, then you need to do them.
  • If it says Complete, and has a P, NE or 0 in the grade section, then you have already completed that requirement or have been exempted from it.

Keep in mind that these are graduation requirements. Encourage your advisees not put them off until your last semester.

If your advisee has a documented disability and would like to request testing accommodations, please tell them to contact Gerry Volpe in the Academic Support Center.
