Workshop: Big Ideas in Advising

On March 2, Dean of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Gillian Galle and Assistant Director of Student Activities James Wolfe presented on “Big ideas in advising.” The theme of the presentation concerned moving advising beyond simply selecting courses. The presenters share information and practices for holistic and developmental advising and the rationale for taking a “team-based” approach.

You can watch a video of the presentation here. It lasts about 60 minutes.

This is the first of a two-part advising series, with a follow-up workshop on Hands-On Advising Techniques covering use of Self-Service and Aviso in registration advising.
