Volume 2.9

Ready? Here we are! Mid-semester! Could it be any busier?

Advising is upon us, the deadline for completing Incompletes is Friday March 18, the last day to withdraw with a grade of “W” is Friday March 25, there are still 4 more Accepted Student Days ahead of us (Wednesday 3/30, Wednesday 4/20, Friday 4/22, Friday 4/29) and… hey… wasn’t this past Sunday March 13 the 2 year anniversary of the COVID pandemic impacting our world?

Otherwise, we have a lot of great information to help you get through these next couple of weeks! Here’s what’s brewing this week:

Upcoming Events:

THIS WEDNESDAY:

Hands-On Practices for Advising: (Wednesday, March 16; 3-4) Join members of the Faculty Assembly teaching and Scholarship Committee for an overview of basic advising practices and online systems for the specifics of student registration. This session is especially recommended for first-time or early-career advisors. Check your CU email for a link or email Chris Boettcher (ceb10070@vsc.edu) for a link.

3D Printing Workshop: Castleton’s new Innovation Lab is proud to offer our first hands-on workshop this Wednesday, from 6:00-7:30 PM.  The topic of this week’s workshop will be an introduction to 3D printing.  The workshop is intended for those with little or no experience with 3D printing.  Instruction will include identifying/downloading suitable 3D models, preparing them for printing, and then getting a print job started on one of the lab’s 3D printers.  This workshop is open to all Castleton students, faculty, and staff.
