Hello CU family!!  Greetings from your NAACP family! We are so excited to welcome you all back for another great semester! We meet Mondays from 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm in the Campus Center Formal Lounge! Quantitative Reasoning and Information Literacy Schedule: Spring 2023

The Quantitative Reasoning and Information Literacy assessment schedule has been set for the spring. If you don’t know if you need to complete these, please see your Advisor. If you are a new student, or one that started in fall 2021, spring 2022, or fall 2022 you can disregard this message. You can sign up for these on the Portal. Log into the Portal, click on Registration, then Search for Sections. Search for Quantitative Reasoning, and then click on CU Spring 2023 in the term section on the left. Click View Available sections. Find the one you want, and add it to your schedule. Do the same for Information Literacy. Make sure you “check-out” to get fully registered. Multicultural Meetings!

Interested in the The Multicultural Club? They meet every other Friday at 5:30pm in the Campus Center Formal Lounge! We welcome all students regardless of gender, race, and background, etc! The purpose of the Multi-Cultural Club is to foster an inclusive community and promote the diverse cultures and backgrounds at Castleton University. Thus, it is not exclusively for the international student population and everyone’s presence is welcomed and highly appreciated. Greenhouse/Garden Club!

The Greenhouse/Garden Club is welcoming new members and we’d love to have you join! Meeting times: Tuesday in the Greenhouse at 12:30pm! We do all kinds of plant related activities and are working hard to get the garden scene back to Castleton by working with great people to get more native plants and pollinators on our campus. We also have other fun events like our Tea and Biscuits and Propagation Parties. Would you like to travel to Ireland? Join us for Comparative Justice: Ireland (CRJ 3740) offered this summer. Enjoy 3 weeks of exploration in Ireland and Northern Ireland (May 15-June 3). Topics explored during this travel course include: history, politics, culture, policing, courts, prisons, rehabilitation, juvenile justice, crime and social issues. The SGA has decided to restart the food committee here on campus and Jacqueline Nash, a delegate on SGA, is looking for students who are interested in being a part of it. The job of the food committee is to work with Sodexo to provide constructive feedback regarding the Sodexo foods. If this sounds like something that interests you, then you are invited to fill out this form! It will only take a minute or two to complete. March (Tutoring) Madness!

It’s that point in the semester – papers, tests, and deadlines abound. It’s normal to feel overwhelmed. That’s why the Academic Support Center wants to remind you about our tutoring services.  We offer walk-in Math and Writing Clinics and an Accounting Lab. You don’t need an appointment: simply drop by our office in Babcock Hall during Clinic hours to speak with the tutor on duty. Need a help in a particular class? We also offer course-specific tutoring. If you’d like a tutor for any Castleton class, you can submit our Tutor Request Form.
