UVM’s Office of Engagement in Partnership with VSAC Announces Student Loan Debt Relief Program Green Mountain Job & Retention Program Serves Graduates from Any Vermont-Based University That Stay in Vermont to Work.  The University of Vermont Office of Engagement announced a new program designed to help graduates from Vermont-based colleges and universities pay a portion of their student loans. Students who are graduating in the Spring of 2023 who accept a full-time position with a company in Vermont are eligible for up to $5,000 in loan debt relief. This club focuses on engaging with the Castleton, and greater Rutland County community, in initiating change. Dear Castleton Students, The Academic Support Center, the Castleton University NAACP, and the Council for Opportunity in Education are proud to invite students, staff, and faculty to join in reading together Finding Me: A Memoir by Viola Davis.  Before Viola Davis was an Academy-Award winning actor, she was a first-generation college student. And before she made it to college, she was a young Black girl who experienced bullying and food insecurity.  By any standard, Ms. Davis’ story is remarkable. Assalamu Alaikum, We would like to extend a warm invitation to you to join us for Jummah Khutbah on campus. The Friday prayer is one of the most important and blessed prayers in Islam and provides a great opportunity for us to gather as a community to worship Allah (SWT). The Khutbah will start this Friday (March 17th) at 12:00 PM in the Seminar Room of North House. Are you graduating in May? If so, be sure to file your Graduation Application before March 20th to ensure you get your tickets for Commencement.   You can complete the Graduation Application quick and easy through your Self Service page.  If you have questions regarding your graduation status email registrar@castleton.edu or stop by to see Stephanie Cleveland or Heather Morrison by checking in at the front desk of the Financial & Registration Services Office in the basement of Woodruff Hall.

We are living in the Digital Age, and that means there are lots of tools to help you succeed. At the Academic Support Center, we have laptop computers (Dell and Mac), noise-canceling headphones, and graphing calculators to help you make the most of your time in college.   If you’re eligible for a federal program called TRIO Student Support Services, you can borrow our devices. How do you know if you qualify for TRIO? If neither of your parents has a bachelor’s degree, your family is of low to moderate income, or you have a documented disability, you are probably eligible for TRIO. Complete our application today. Work in Vermont. Lose Some of Your Student Loans.

The State of Vermont, in collaboration with the University of Vermont and the Vermont Student Assistance Corporation (VSAC), is offering a $5000 loan repayment program to incentivize and retain new graduates from Vermont colleges and universities. Any graduate during the spring 2023 academic year with a Bachelor's degree can apply. Recipients will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis based on regional, employer, and institutional distribution criteria, as long as funding is available. Applicants must submit proof of employment when applying. Employment will be verified with the Vermont-based employer at two points: after one year of employment and after the second year of employment. For more information and the link to apply visit here!

Castleton Room Selection Rules: Housing for 2023-2024 Application is Live!

The housing application is officially open for housing for the 2023-2024 academic year. We would like to inform all students that beginning in the Fall of 2023 the entire Vermont State University will share one eRezlife system.  There are a few areas that will be included this Spring semester.  The housing contract for the 2023-2024 Academic year will be part of the new eRezlife system for the spring housing contract and room selection process. Please make sure that you select returning student or returning graduate student for your student type to be eligible to select a room for next year.
