The Financial & Registration Services office is located on the ground level of Woodruff Hall, and we’re open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closing for lunch daily from 12 to 1. Mid-Term Study Tips and Tricks from the ASC!

Mid-Terms: Why You Shouldn’t Study All Night It’s hard to believe, but mid-term exams are just around the corner! Time to pull all-night study sessions, right? Well, no. Research shows students perform better on exams when they don’t cram before the test. Short study sessions over a period of a few days or a week are more effective than the all-nighter. We’ve got more study tricks and tips where that came from. It’s hard to believe it, but we’re already a month into Spring 2021. By now, you know which classes are going well – and which are not.  If you’re not happy with your grades in any course, why not check out the Academic Support Center’s tutoring programs? Fill out our Tutor Request Form to request a tutor in any Castleton course. We also offer virtual Writing and Math Clinics, where you can get drop-in help with writing and math assignments. Our Clinic hours and Zoom links appear below.  Our tutors are friendly, and they’ll meet you where you are to help you succeed. Struggling with Research? Are you writing a research paper this semester? (Maybe more than one?) Are you struggling to find background information or scholarly articles on your topic? Having a hard time managing all of your citations? Unsure where to start or what questions to ask? Wherever you are in the research process, you can set up an appointment with Miranda Axworthy, by phone or by Zoom, to work through whatever you need help with. ASC Launches New Study Buddy Program February 9

Students Perform Best When Connected to Other Students While we’re all thankful that we can continue working and studying during these times, online learning just isn’t the same as the traditional college experience. For one thing, it can be a little lonely. And research shows that students perform better when they feel connected to their peers.
