NAACP Fashion Show: Get Your Tickets!

Step into style and elegance at the NAACP's "Get Ready With Me" Fashion Show! The show is happening Saturday, March 30th in the 1787 Room from 6-7:30 pm. The doors open at 5pm! Experience the magic behind the mirror! Student Tickets are free, courtesy of the Campus Activities Board! The Castleton Alumni Association recognizes the outstanding contributions and achievements of Castleton faculty through the “Outstanding Full-Time Faculty Award” by recognizing a faculty member whose "excellence in teaching influences students well beyond graduation." The Christine Price Gallery happily presents "The Senior Art Exhibition" being held from Monday, March 25th - Wednesday, May 22nd! There will be an Artist Reception held Friday, March 29th from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. This exhibit will be a culmination of these students' entire university experience. Wind Symphony presents “Outer Realms”!

Wednesday, April 3rd Casella Theater  | 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm The VTSU Castleton Wind Symphony presents “Outer Realms," a program featuring works inspired by space, other worlds, and the imagination. The concert will feature special guest soloist and faculty member Professor Jared Shapiro performing as cello soloist for Luis Serrano Alarcon’s “Tramonto." The concert will also feature works by David Maslanka and Julie Giroux and Joe Hisaishi’s score for “Spirited Away”. Free for all students, faculty, staff, and alumni! Adult tickets $10, Senior tickets $5.

The National Audubon Photography Show of 2022

The Rutland County Audubon Society is hosting an exhibit of the winning photographs of the 2022 National Audubon Photography Contest! The large format images are being displayed at the VTSU Castleton Bank Gallery on the corner of Merchants Row and Center Street in Rutland, March 22nd-April 27th. The stunning winners were selected from 10,000 photos and videos submitted by almost 2,500 photographers. The exhibit will be available for viewing every Thursday, Friday, Saturday from 12:00- 6:00 pm. Women's History Month is here! Keep an eye out for events that will be happening on different campuses throughout the month! The first we want to share are:  All campuses: libraries across the University will have displays for Women’s History Month. They also have an online display.  Virtual: the Office of DEISJ has a virtual display this month highlighting women who have fought uplifted DEISJ through their work fighting for women’s rights, racial justice, disability rights, and LGBTQ+ rights. Graduating in May with borrowed Federal Loans?

All students graduating in May who have borrowed Federal Loans (Subsidized/Unsubsidized/Graduate PLUS) while at Vermont State University are required to complete Federal Loan Exit Counseling.  Castleton Campus will hold a loan exit counseling session in person on Thursday April 4th at 12:30 in Herrick Auditorium.  If you are attending the in-person session, you should bring a copy of your Loan History, which is accessed by logging into www.nslds.ed.gov and clicking on Financial Aid Review (you will need your FSA ID to sign in).  We will have time set aside at the end of the session for students to log into NSLDS to view their history and ask questions. On behalf of the entire Student Government Association, you are invited to submit your nominations for the 2024 Student Government Association Awards.  The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete, and you are asked to please try to nominate someone for each award. They must meet the criteria listed in the description to be eligible for that particular award. Please submit your reasons for each nomination.
