Student Success: How to Send Aviso Messages to Advisees Who Have Not Yet Registered

You may recall seeing an e-mail from Kelley Beckwith on 11/11/2020 about messaging students through Aviso. However, you may not. There have been a lot of electronic correspondence recently and it’s easy to lose track of one e-mail amongst the many others. So allow us to bring it back to your attention back to it in case you missed out!

How to Send Aviso Messages to Advisees Who Have Not Yet Registered

Overview: Aviso is designed to improve student success outcomes through the application of best practices when communicating with advisees. Nudging students to register sooner rather than later is one of the most important messages to send.

Summary of Steps: (If you are already familiar with Filters and Templates, this may be all you need!)

  • Step 1: Filter your Caseload to identify which students you want to contact
  • Step 2: Create a Template Message reminding students to register and offering to help
  • Step 3: Send a Message to students who have yet to register for Spring 2021
