Volume 2.3

So last Wednesday I found myself remarking to a colleague “This week has been the longest week ever!”
Then I realized that I’d been saying that same phrase every week since the semester began… incrementally earlier in the week each time. (That is, the week before that I said it on Thursday, the week before that I felt it on Friday, and so on…)

I hope the weeks haven’t felt quite as long for you.

But if they have, please know you’re not alone. For me I suspect it may be related to being out of practice with the increased demands of the return to the in-person experience on campus… But whatever the case may be, be gentle with yourself. I know we extend extraordinary compassion to our students, but can sometimes forget to do that for ourselves. As we head into week 5 consider this a reminder that you are valuable and you deserve to take care of yourself too! (Need ideas on how to do this? See some of our previous posts on self-compassion by Dr. Shannon Newell here and here.)

What’s brewing this week? Well, we’ve got a potpourri of things for your consideration:

And here is where I ordinarily identify important and upcoming dates you should have on your calendar, like the Board of Trustees meeting where they’re being briefed on name recommendations for the NCE (9/21), the CORDIS Soundings event (9/22), or the giant celebration of Victoria Angis (10/29)… But we now have a snazzy new calendar to help you stay apprised of what’s on the horizon! Have you checked out the CCTL Calendar of Events yet?

Have suggestions for content? Want to write something for The Educator? Have an event you want included in the calendar? Let us know!
