Workshop: Scholarship of Teaching and Learning

On February 2, 2022 Dean of Arts, Humanities, Gillian Galle and Associate Professor of Education Monica McEnerny presented an overview of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning with an emphasis on Action Research. Professor McEnerny presented on Action Research in K-12 contexts with a focus on middle grades, and Dean Galle presented on her work conducting Action Research in a college math classroom.

You can access a video of the recording here. It is about 35 minutes.

There are some follow-up materials available to you, as well. You can access an overview of STOL, a description of how it is used to improve college teaching, and a step-by-step guide. Access the workshop OneDrive folder here.

This workshop was also a preview of a new program coming from the Center for Teaching and Learning. Small grants will be available for faculty members who design their own SOTL projects and launch them in a fall course. More details toward the end of the semester!
