Summer Technology Updates

From Provost Tom Mauhs-Pugh

Please read the attached document carefully as it will tell you what technology to expect in the classrooms you have been assigned for fall.

Over this past year we have been upgrading the technology in the classrooms.  That work is ongoing.  Due to pandemic disruptions in the supply chain of computer equipment, vendor backlogs for installation, and the need to tap diverse funding streams with differing timelines and procedures (CRF money, Title III, CU budget), we have to do these upgrades in stages.  At this point, we have primarily installed newer equipment that is consistent across campus and better integrated.  However, we have not yet added all the components for every classroom that we plan on doing.

For those who rely on plugging their own laptop or mobile device into the classroom tech system, note that you may have an audio problem, depending on which room you are in and how many more rooms we can address audio functionality for user plug-ins before the start of classes.

Again, please read the attached carefully.  We are making great progress in improving educational technology throughout the campus, but it is an ongoing project that will require some adaptability and patience.
