This is a workshop that was offered by the Teaching and Scholarship Committee with the aim of introducing basic advising practices involved in helping students register for classes. Manager of Student Success Ashley Haggerty presents an overview of her practices guiding incoming students through their first registration in Self-Service. Dean of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences Gillian Galle presents some of the basic functions of Aviso.
You can watch a recording of the workshop here.
This workshop was the second in a series concerning advising. The previous week, Dean Galle and Assistant Director of Student Activities James Wolfe presented a workshop on Big Ideas in Advising. That workshop provided a more conceptual overview of the current thinking guiding discussion on advising on the VSC campuses. You can watch a recording here.
