And for many students, it’s an opportunity to get ahead with a summer class. With a summer class, you can catch up, get ahead, or take that elective you’ve dreamed about. Without the semester distractions, most students report having an easier time concentrating on their studies, and financial aid usually covers summer courses. Summer Course Registration is Open!

Dear Spartans,Summer course registration is open. This year's summer session will feature an online schedule of courses and reduced tuition.  Visit the Summer Session registration page to register for a summer course. See our full announcement below for details. Castleton Summer Session Features Online Courses and Lower Tuition Castleton University will deliver the summer session 2021 online, allowing students to continue their studies from wherever they are spending their summer. Castleton's summer session courses run in an accelerated format, ranging from three to eight weeks. Summer Session One runs from May 17 to June 27, and Session Two is from July 5 to Aug 15. Are you a rising sophomore (or junior) and a student who still needs ENG 2260 Touchstones of Western Lit?  Or ENG 2270 Honors Touchstones?  We encourage you instead to take the pilot course: CNX 2710 Connections Seminar 2 in Fall 2021! This pilot course will count as a substitution for Touchstones, no forms needed, we will take care of the paperwork for you.  And did I mention, it’s also writing intensive? The Fall 2021 schedule is available for viewing. You can access search for sections here: Course Listings. Start with the Castleton fall term, and one other search criteria. Get Ready to Register: Self-Service and Aviso Make Registration Seamless. Fall Registration opens March 29th! Thanks to Self-Service, registering for classes has never been easier. You can: Use Self-Service to view your Program Evaluation and search for fall classes.Once you’ve found classes you’d like to take, you can add them to your Shopping Cart in Self-Service.After you’ve registered for classes, you can check your schedule in Self-Service. If you have questions about using Self-Service and Aviso, visit the Academic Support Center’s Virtual Lobby. We’ll be hosting a special lobby March 22nd-March 25th from 6-8pm. Would a summer course feed your curiosity or help you graduate on time? Summer courses are now available for viewing and registration in Self-service. Connect with your advisor about your course plans for summer because you need their approval before registering for summer classes. More information regarding costs will be posted at www.castelton.edu and on social media.

The fall schedule will be made viewable in Self-Service very soon, so stay tuned! Your registration appointment date will arrive in your email next week, so be on the lookout. Once you connect with your advisor and they approve you to register, you will sign up for classes through Self-service on the Portal. Questions about Self-Service? Adding and Dropping Courses

Go to Self-Service to Add or Drop a Course Step 1: Login to the Portal and Choose Self-Service Step 2: Choose Student Planning (see arrow) ADD: Students can add open Castleton courses online through Student Planning through February 8. DROP: Students can drop Castleton courses online through Student Planning through February 15.  Courses dropped by the 15th will not appear on the student’s transcript.  Courses dropped after the 15th will appear on the transcript with a grade of “W”, and the student’s bill will not be adjusted to reflect the drop. Please note: Faculty will not be able to overload in-person classes beyond the capacity determined safe for social distancing purposes.
