Quantitative Reasoning and Information Literacy Schedule: Spring 2023

The Quantitative Reasoning and Information Literacy assessment schedule has been set for the spring. If you don’t know if you need to complete these, please see your Advisor. If you are a new student, or one that started in fall 2021, spring 2022, or fall 2022 you can disregard this message. You can sign up for these on the Portal. Log into the Portal, click on Registration, then Search for Sections. Search for Quantitative Reasoning, and then click on CU Spring 2023 in the term section on the left. Click View Available sections. Find the one you want, and add it to your schedule. Do the same for Information Literacy. Make sure you “check-out” to get fully registered. It’s that point in the semester – papers, tests, and deadlines abound. It’s normal to feel overwhelmed. That’s why the Academic Support Center wants to remind you about our tutoring services.  We offer walk-in Math and Writing Clinics and an Accounting Lab. You don’t need an appointment: simply drop by our office in Babcock Hall during Clinic hours to speak with the tutor on duty. Need a help in a particular class? We also offer course-specific tutoring. If you’d like a tutor for any Castleton class, you can submit our Tutor Request Form. The library has so many amazing options to choose from, there's something for everybody! *** Visit the Casual Collection or the Juvenile Section for something easy-going yet immersive! The library also has new releases and an entire display dedicated to the Power of Books in the front of the library. Looking for study material? Hello Spartans! Just a reminder that we have our Summer courses available for registration. You can access search for sections here: Course Listings.  We offer two summer sessions at Castleton: Session I courses run May 15th – July 2nd  located in the Course Listings under the C23SU term (Castleton University Summer 2023) Session II courses run July 3rd – August 20th located in the Course Listings under the S23SU term (Vermont State University Summer 2023) Students will need to reach out to their advisors for approval to register for the summer term! Innovation Lab Hours!

In case you didn't know, Castleton University's Innovation Lab is dedicated to providing the campus community with access to state-of-the-art 3D technology.  The lab is equipped with six 3D printers (traditional FDM and resin printers), a Glowforge laser cutter, virtual reality headsets, 3D scanners, and high-end computers for digital design.  Students, staff, and faculty have been using the lab to make virtual reality models, to print all kinds of 3D objects, to create 3D models of local artifacts, and many other things.   The Innovation Lab is located in Leavenworth 201 and is available to all members of the campus community. The lab is staffed by student interns and has the following hours this semester: Monday: 4:00 - 9:00 PM Tuesday: 12:00 - 7:30 ...

Add/Drop Guidelines!

Students may make changes to their schedules in the following ways: Students will need the instructor’s permission to be registered for any classes that are closed.  Students will also need the instructor’s permission to add courses for which they do not have the prerequisite.  Please complete this form and email it with the instructor’s email permission to registrar@castleton.edu. Students may add and drop “Y” (second half of the semester) courses through March 20th . Students may continue to drop full semester courses through March 31st.  Courses dropped between February 1st and April 1st will appear with a grade of “W” on the transcript, and no refund will be issued.
